Magic is taking place in a storefront loitering?
I was wondering if the creation of a folding table and perform some magic tricks front of a store and have a tip jar there is idle. Or even if people point me to perform magic on the street is illegal. I see people in front Walgreen's, with container saying they are part of an organization for different companies and see that the people give them money. And sometimes they fly, packages, etc., does I see to be arrested, get a ticket or anything else. Maybe they are offering a service in exchange for money people are giving. Do not know. But I know that people is in front of shops and not going anywhere. So say I stand or create a little stand in front of a small shop or on the street or even in front of the mall. Is illegal creation of a tip jar while I do magic in San Jose (the region of Santa Clara County)? Thanks for your help in advance.
If you is in the ownership of the store, you'd have to get permission first, or you could be charged with vagrancy or passing trees. If you are in property public, which would be in street performances. That is covered by a local ordinance would have to call the Town Hall. It is likely that a permit would be necessary.
