How to inflate bicycle wheels?
I've never done this before. I have a bicycle pump (no, not a balloon pump), but I think can not get the PDA thingy against opening the valve. I tried to turn and shoot, what am I doing wrong?
There may be 2 issues. First, is possible that the valves Presta. They are usually metal and have a small button on top that is loose but not quite. They may have a plastic lid additional on top of them. The pump fits securely on the valve. When complete, remove the pump, valve slightly rescrew, and install the cover. If the pump seems to be too loose in the valve that is trying to fill a Presta valve with Schraeder (car type valve rubber) of the pump. Many pumps have an adapter to allow this. After unscrewing the valve, install the adapter, connect the pump and go for it. If the pump does not seem to want to go to the valve is trying to fill a Schraeder valve with a pump provided. Do not walk away from this, you need a pump that fits. If you tried to save a few bucks by getting a Store pump in a mass market rather than a bike shop, I suggest you return the pump you have and go to a bike shop.
