It's not unusual for parents to spare no expense on children's parties, but your child doesn't need $4,000 worth of balloons, food, and party games to have an unforgettable birthday. The most important things a birthday party should have are fun activities, your child's favorite foods, and good company – and they don't have to cost a lot of money. These fun-filled Bay Area parties are priced below $300. Give these places a call for a birthday party that's memorable, meaningful, and well within budget.
Habitot
The hands-on children's museum Habitot is a popular destination for kids in the East Bay. Through their interactive activities, art programs, and multicultural events, kids between the ages 0 and 6 get to play, learn, and grow together in a fun-filled and fully interactive environment. If your child can't enough of Habitot, consider holding his or her birthday party here. Their simplest package costs only $175 and allows you to hold a 2-hour party on weekday afternoons. Included are ten invitations, party goods storage, three hours of parking validation for the host, and free four-person family passes for a future visit. A birthday cake, party favors, beverages, and dedicated party assistant are also available for an added cost.
MOCHA
Here's another children's museum that doubles as a fantastic party place. The Museum of Children's Art (MOCHA) is a place where kids can use different types of media to express themselves. At their drop-in studios, kids can engage in art projects based around a weekly theme. Their art party packages are just as hands-on and creative as the arts classes, and they're easy to plan too! All you have to do is choose which studio to reserve and decide on an art project theme, and their friendly staff will work to make the party fun and memorable for your child. All art materials will be provided for, as well as an enthusiastic MOCHA instructor who will guide the kids throughout the project. Packages start at $225.

Pixieland
Give your child a magical birthday with a party at Pixieland! This small amusement park in Concord brings fairy tales to life with their exciting rides and amazing attractions. They also have three incredibly affordable party packages to choose from. The Pixie Party Package costs only $199 and includes unlimited rides for 10 or less guests, one party table, ride tickets for your child's next visit, and a Pixie birthday sticker for the guest of honor. If you hold your child's party on a weekday, the Pixie Party Package will only cost $149.99. And if your child doesn't mind a shorter celebration, the After-School Pixie Party allows you to save more with its $129.99 price tag. Like the other two parties, this package also includes unlimited rides, but the party table can only be used for an hour and a half.
